Ingredients

  • 1 slice white sandwich bread
  • 1 egg
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

    Cut a heart shape out of the bread using an appropriate heart-shaped cutter, leaving about a 1 cm border. Toast one side in a pan with a little butter.

    Remove the pan from heat and flip the bread slice. Separate the egg; pour just enough egg white into the heart so it doesn’t overflow. Place the yolk in the center. Cover and let set over low heat. Season with salt and pepper.
