Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 150 ml dark beer
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp Ground cumin
  • pinch pepper
  • 800 g hanger steak (also called kidney punch)
  • Salt

Instructions

    Peel and press the garlic. Mix with the dark beer, lemon juice, sugar, olive oil, both types of paprika, cumin and pepper.

    Wash the steak, pat it dry and pour the mixture over it in a shallow bowl. Cover and let marinate at room temperature for about 2 hours.

    Remove the steak from the marinade, season with salt and grill on a hot grill over coals for 10–15 minutes, turning several times. The meat should be pink inside but not overcooked.

    Slice the steak into serving portions.
