Ingredients

  • 600 g frozen spinach
  • 2 slices whole grain toast
  • 2 red onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 4 tbsp plant oil
  • Salt
  • lemon pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 4 beef fillet steaks (about 160 g each)
  • 1 tsp onion granulate
  • 4 slices raclette cheese
  • basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Let the spinach thaw. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) with upper and lower heat. Toast the bread until crisp, then cut into ~1 cm cubes. Peel and finely dice the onions and garlic. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and sauté the onions with garlic. Add the spinach and cook covered for about 5 minutes. Season with salt, lemon pepper, and nutmeg.

  2. 2.

Add the remaining oil to another hot pan. Pat the steaks dry, then sear them slowly on both sides in the oil. Season with salt, pepper, and onion granulate. Place the fillets in small ramekins or a baking dish. Top each with the spinach and bread mixture, then add one slice of cheese. Bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.

  3. 3.

Serve the gratinated beef steak garnished with basil as desired.
