Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground beef
  • Salt
  • black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 shallots (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp rosemary (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 egg
  • oil
  • 8 medium boiled potatoes
  • oil
  • Salt
  • dried Thyme
  • Ajvar
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp hot paprika powder
  • rosemary (for garnish)
  • parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

    Knead the ground beef with salt, pressed garlic, rosemary, shallots, sweet paprika and the egg until well combined. Shape into thumb‑thick, long rolls, chill, brush with oil and grill over high heat until slowly golden brown all around.

    Slice potatoes about 1 cm thick, brush with oil, season with salt and grill on foil on both sides over hot grill, sprinkling thyme. Briefly blanch the tomatoes, cool, peel, quarter, seed and finely chop; mix with Ajvar and hot paprika powder, taste.

    Serve the cevapi with grilled potatoes, Ajvar and herbs as garnish (optional).
