Ingredients

  • 1 ready-to-cook roast chicken (about 1.2 kg)
  • 50 g butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)

Instructions

    Season the chicken with salt and pepper and brush it with melted butter. Place it breast-side down in a fireproof dish or roasting pan.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 30 minutes. Mix 1 cup of water with 2 tsp salt. Flip the chicken over, pour the salted water over it, and continue baking for another 15 minutes, spooning the liquid over the bird several times.
