Ingredients
- 600 g potatoes (cooked in skin, peeled and sliced)
- 3 carrots (cut into cubes)
- 400 g ground beef
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 2 onions (finely chopped)
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp clarified butter
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 400 g cabbage (cut into strips)
- Salt
- black pepper (freshly ground)
- 150 ml white wine
- 200 g grated Gruyère cheese (or Appenzeller, etc.)
Instructions

Sauté onions and bay leaf in clarified butter; press in garlic and add the beef and carrots, stirring. Mix in mustard, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and herbs.

Blanch cabbage in boiling salted water for 2 minutes, drain, rinse with cold water, and let it dry.

Place cabbage in a greased baking dish, layer the meat mixture over it, then top with potatoes. Season with salt and pepper, pour white wine over, and sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
