Grain and Lentil Stew

Spoonsparrow grain and lentil stew is not only delicious for dinner!

Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp plant oil
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 150 g pearl barley
  • 200 g peeled yellow lentils
  • 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
  • Salt
  • ground pepper
  • 1.5 l vegetable broth

Instructions

    Peel and finely dice the onions and garlic, then sauté them in hot oil until translucent. Stir in turmeric and cumin, then deglaze with the broth. Add the barley, stir, and simmer gently for about 20 minutes. Add the lentils and continue to cook for another 20 minutes or until tender. If needed, add more broth. Finally, fold in parsley and season with salt and pepper.
