Ingredients

  • 4 slices Italian country bread
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)

Instructions

    Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and roast in a preheated oven at 225°C until golden brown.

    Peel the garlic, finely dice it, and mix with the olive oil.

    Remove the bread from the oven, brush with the garlic‑oil mixture, and season with salt and pepper.

    For the tomato version, place the bread slices on a baking sheet and roast in a preheated oven at 225°C until golden brown.

    Peel the garlic and press it into the olive oil. Drain the tomatoes and mash them with a fork.
