Fruity BBQ Sauce

Pineapple BBQ sauce with maple syrup, chili and bacon: a homemade sauce that packs flavor while keeping fat and calories low.
Ingredients
- 2 orange juice
- 125 g pineapple flesh (fresh pineapple)
- 75 g diced bacon
- 2 small onions
- 1 tbsp oil
- 200 ml ketchup
- 4 tbsp Maple syrup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 dried chili peppers
Instructions

Cut the oranges in half and squeeze out 100 ml of juice. Peel the pineapple and dice the flesh into small cubes.

Dice the bacon finely. Peel and finely chop the onions.

Heat oil in a pan, add the bacon and cook over medium heat until crispy.

Add the onions and stir for another minute. Drain excess fat leaving about 1/2 tsp in the pan.

Add pineapple, ketchup, maple syrup, orange juice, Worcestershire sauce and chili peppers to the bacon and onions in the pan. Bring everything to a boil and simmer for 4‑5 minutes over medium heat.

Place a sieve over a bowl. Pour the sauce through the sieve with a ladle, cool, then serve.
