Fruit Strudel

Ingredients

  • 300 g cherries
  • 300 g plum
  • 2 Apples
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 400 g puff pastry (refrigerated)
  • melted butter (for brushing)
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) with upper and lower heat.

    Wash and pit the cherries and plums. Peel, quarter, core, and cut the apples into 1 cm pieces. Mix all fruits together.

    In a non-stick pan caramelize the sugar, then sauté the fruit for 2-4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon.

    Roll out the puff pastry, brush with butter, and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Spread the fruit mixture over the dough, leaving a 3–4 cm border around all edges.

    Fold the borders inward on three sides and roll the strudel toward the fourth side. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 40 minutes (test with a skewer). Remove, let cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
