Fruit Gratin with Almond Sticks

Ingredients

  • 300 g Strawberries
  • 300 g raspberries
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 3 stale rolls
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 ml Whipping Cream
  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 pinch Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • butter (for the dish)
  • 4 tbsp almond sticks

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with top and bottom heating.

    Wash, trim, and chop the strawberries; mix with the raspberries and 2 tbsp sugar, letting sit for 10 minutes.

    Whisk together the eggs, cream, milk, remaining sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch.

    Slice the stale rolls thinly and spread them in four buttered ramekins. Top with the fruit mixture, pour the egg‑cream over it, let rest for 10 minutes, then sprinkle almond sticks on top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, covering promptly with buttered parchment paper to prevent excessive browning.
