Ingredients

  • 100 g peeled almonds
  • 100 g Hazelnuts
  • 100 g walnut kernels
  • 150 g dried figs
  • 150 g mixed candied fruits
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 0.5 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp corn starch
  • butter (for greasing)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Roast almonds and nuts in a pan over low heat while stirring briefly. Let cool and roughly chop.

  2. 2.

Dice figs and candied fruits into small cubes, place them in a bowl and mix with the spices and nuts.

  3. 3.

Place powdered sugar and honey in a metal bowl set over a water bath. Stir constantly over low heat until the mixture melts and draws threads; then let it cool slightly while stirring.

  4. 4.

Stir the honey solution into the prepared nut-fruit mixture and fold in 1-2 tbsp starch. Line two muffin tins with parchment paper, pour the batter in, and smooth the tops.

  5. 5.

Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C fan for about 25–30 minutes. Let the fruit bread cool. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
