Frittierter Tofu

Ingredients
- 250 g Tofu
- 5 EL soy sauce
- Tabasco
- 1 EL lemongrass (the bright part, finely chopped)
- 1 TL coriander seeds (crushed in a mortar)
- 1 EL sesame oil
- 1 EL lemon juice
- Salt
- Pepper
- flour (for coating)
- 2 Eggs
- 150 g coconut flakes
- oil (for frying)
Instructions

Cut tofu into bite‑sized cubes (about 2 x 2 cm).

Whisk soy sauce, Tabasco, lemongrass, coriander, 1 EL sesame oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper together; marinate the tofu cubes for 2–3 hours. Remove and drain.

Heat oil in a pot (it is hot enough when bubbles start to rise on the handle of a wooden spoon) or in a deep fryer to 180°C.

Sift flour onto a plate, whisk eggs with 1 TL water, and place coconut flakes on another plate. Coat tofu cubes in flour, then dip in egg mixture, and finally coat with coconut flakes. Press flakes lightly onto the coating and immediately fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with soy sauce.
