  • 200 g canned artichoke hearts
  • 2 Spring Onions
  • 0.5 handful sprouts (e.g., mung bean sprouts)
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp coconut shreds
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • chili powder to taste
  • 20 Wan Tan dough sheets
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 20 chive stems for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Drain the artichoke hearts well and chop them finely. Wash, trim, and slice the spring onions into thin rings. Rinse the sprouts and drain thoroughly. Mix the vegetables with ginger and coconut shreds, then season with soy sauce and chili powder.

  2. 2.

Place about 1–2 tsp of filling in the center of each Wan Tan sheet. Brush the edges with water, fold up, and form a pouch by pressing firmly and twisting slightly. Tie with kitchen twine if desired. Fry portions in hot oil (≈170 °C) for 3–4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, remove twine, and serve wrapped with chive stems if desired.
