Fried Cherries

Ingredients

  • 100 g flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch Cinnamon powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 0.125 l mineral water
  • 20 ml cherry brandy
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 egg whites
  • 24 beautiful cherries
  • fat
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Add flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and egg yolk to a bowl. Melt butter in a small pot and stir in the mineral water and cherry brandy. Cover the batter and let it rest for 30 minutes. Beat the egg whites until stiff and gently fold them into the batter.

    Heat the fat to 180°C.

    Hold three cherries by their stems, dip them in the batter and fry portions in the fat. Drain on a kitchen towel and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
