Ingredients

  • 4 ripe apples (e.g., Boskop)
  • 40 g walnut kernels
  • 50 g ground hazelnuts
  • 2 Tbsp dried raisins
  • 30 g marzipan paste
  • 20 ml orange liqueur
  • 1 Egg white
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla sugar
  • ground cinnamon (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan‑forced.

  2. 2.

Wash the apples and cut off a lid. Poke out the core and slightly hollow the apples, leaving a small rim. Chop the walnut kernels and combine with hazelnuts and raisins in a bowl. Mash the marzipan with the liqueur using a fork in a small bowl and add to the nuts. Whip the egg white with vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form and fold into the nut mixture. Fill the lower halves of the apples, place the lids on top, and set them in a greased baking dish. Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown and dust with cinnamon before serving.
