Ingredients

  • 1 lemon (juice and grated zest)
  • 2 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 0.25 l water
  • 0.25 white port wine
  • 3 Cloves
  • 0.5 cinnamon stick
  • 250 g dried figs
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 50 g ground almonds
  • 200 g whipping cream
  • 1 tsp cane sugar

Instructions

    Add water, port wine, lemon zest and juice, ginger, cloves, and cinnamon to a pot; bring to a boil once and simmer over medium heat for about 3 minutes.

    Place the figs in a bowl, drizzle with honey, and pour the hot port wine reduction over them. Cover and let steep for about 24 hours. To serve, whip the cream until stiff peaks form and mix in almonds and cane sugar. Arrange the port‑wine figs on a plate, top with the whipped cream, and drizzle with some of the reduction.
