Nothing beats traditional cuisine: Fake rabbit as at Grandma's Spoonsparrow brings back childhood memories!

Ingredients

  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 stale rolls
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp freshly chopped thyme
  • 1 tsp freshly chopped oregano
  • 600 g mixed ground meat
  • 1 tsp sharp mustard
  • 1 egg
  • Salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • vegetable oil (for greasing the pan)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) with upper and lower heat.

  2. 2.

Peel the boiled eggs. Soak the rolls in lukewarm water. Peel the onion, finely chop it, and sauté it in a hot pan with 1 tbsp oil until translucent. Remove from heat and let cool. Mix in the herbs.

  3. 3.

Combine the ground meat with the onion mixture, mustard, well-squeezed rolls, salt, and pepper to form a dough. Place half of the dough into a greased loaf pan, create a shallow trough along its length, place the rolled eggs inside, and cover with the remaining meat dough. Brush with oil and bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour.

  4. 4.

Remove from the oven, carefully lift out of the pan, and slice. Serve as desired with noodles and a fresh salad.
