English Chocolate Cake with Beer

Ingredients
- soft butter (for the pan)
- 250 ml beer (Stout, e.g., Guinness)
- 250 g butter
- 75 g cocoa powder
- 250 g flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 250 g sugar
- a pinch salt
- 3 eggs
- 150 g Sour cream
- 200 g dark chocolate couverture
- 75 ml whipping cream
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan. Grease the springform pan.

Bring the stout and butter to a boil in a pot, stirring. Stir in cocoa powder and let cool.

Sift flour with baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl whisk eggs with sour cream until smooth. Fold in chocolate mixture, then fold in dry mix. Pour into pan and bake for about 1 hour (test with skewer). Remove from oven and cool in pan.

For decoration, chop chocolate and melt with cream over a double boiler while stirring. Remove from heat and stir until spreadable. Release cake from pan and spread chocolate cream on top.
