Ingredients

  • 600 g elderberries
  • 150 g sugar
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 vanilla pod (aroma)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 100 ml dry red wine
  • 150 g blue plums
  • 2 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

    Rinse the elderberries, pat them dry, gently separate from stems and combine with sugar, spices, lemon zest, and red wine in a pot to bring to a boil. Wash the plums, halve, pit, chop finely, and mix in.

    Simmer everything over medium heat for about 10 minutes, then thicken with cornstarch mixed in cold water. Remove the compote from the stove, pour into a bowl, and let it cool.
