Ingredients

  • 1 untreated orange
  • 1 kg currants
  • 20 ml orange liqueur
  • 500 g gelatin sugar (2:1)

    Peel the orange, cut the peel into thin strips and squeeze out the juice. Crush half of the peeled, washed, and dried fruits with a fork. Add the liqueur, gelatin sugar, orange peel, and juice, then mix with the whole fruits. Let it steep for about 30 minutes.

    Bring to a boil while stirring constantly for 6-8 minutes, then remove the pot from the heat. Fill almost full hot-washed jars with the marmalade and seal. Place the jars upside down for 5 minutes, then turn them right side up and let cool completely. Store in a cool, dark place.
