Ingredients

  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 cube fresh yeast (42 g)
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 125 g butter
  • 500 g flour
  • 80 g sugar
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 240 g sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 240 g butter

    Crush the yeast into lukewarm milk, add a little sugar and let rise for 10 minutes. Melt the butter over low heat and allow it to cool slightly. In a bowl combine the flour with the remaining sugar, salt, and eggs, then stir briefly with the dough hooks of a hand mixer. Add the yeasted milk and butter, and knead everything into a smooth yeast dough. Cover the dough and let rise in a warm, draft‑free place for about 1 hour.

    Preheat the oven to 180 °C fan‑forced. Knead the dough again, then roll it out into a rectangle (the size of your baking tray). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the dough on it. For the topping, vigorously mix flour, sugar, and melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle fine crumbs over the dough. Let the dough rise for another 15 minutes, then bake in the hot oven for 20 minutes until golden brown.
