Ingredients

  • 2 brioche rolls (or sweet white bread as desired)
  • 1 red-fleshed apple
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 30 g Butter
  • 1 tbsp cane sugar
  • 1 tsp crème fraîche
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

    Wash the apple and halve it. Slice one half into thin strips, drizzle with lemon juice. Peel the other half and dice the flesh; sauté in butter, then season with cinnamon and sugar. Cut the brioche into 8 slices and cut out equal circles (about 4‑5 cm diameter).

    Thinly spread crème fraîche on the brioche circles and grill under a preheated oven broiler until light brown (watch closely to avoid burning!). Remove, let cool slightly, then top four circles with cooked apple pieces, arrange apple strips on top, and cover with another brioche circle. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
