Ingredients
- 150 g sugar
- 0.5 l espresso
- 4 tbsp coffee liqueur
- mint
- coffee bean
Instructions
-
1.
Add sugar and 100 ml water to a pot and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, pour in espresso, cover and let cool for about 1 hour.
-
2.
Pour part of the coffee into a shallow metal or plastic dish and place it in the freezer. Fill the remaining portion into an ice cube tray and freeze as well.
-
3.
After about 20 minutes stir with a fork or spoon and push the ice crystals from the edges toward the center. Repeat this every 20 minutes until all liquid has frozen into ice crystals (total approximately 2 hours).
-
4.
Transfer the partially frozen granita and coffee ice cubes to a blender and blend vigorously, crushing the ice crystals.
-
5.
Serve the granita in four well-chilled glasses, garnished with mint leaves and roasted coffee beans.
