The Chocolate Pear Dessert by Spoonsparrow combines two popular flavors in a successful way.

Ingredients

  • 100 g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
  • 100 ml coconut milk
  • 4 ripe pears (about 100 g each)
  • 30 g margarine
  • 2 tbsp date syrup (about 15 g)
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla powder
  • 1 pinch fleur de sel
  • 2 spelt speculaas cookies (vegan)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Chop the chocolate and place it in a heat‑proof bowl. Bring the coconut milk to a boil in a pot, pour over the chocolate, cover and let stand for about 5 minutes. Then mix with an immersion blender until smooth; set aside and cool for 15 minutes.

  2. 2.

Meanwhile peel, quarter, core and dice the pears. Heat the margarine in a pan. Stir in the date syrup, then add the pear cubes, vanilla powder and a pinch of fleur de sel. Simmer everything over medium heat for about 5 minutes; remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.

  3. 3.

Fill four glasses with pears and pour the chocolate sauce over them. Sprinkle crushed speculaas on top of the dessert.
