Chili Walnut Cookies

Hearty snack: Chili walnut cookies are perfect for gifting, bringing along, and snacking.
Ingredients
- 200 g cold butter
- 50 g white sugar
- 100 g brown sugar
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground cloves
- 1 pinch ground cardamom
- 160 g wheat flour (Type 1050)
- 0.5 tsp Baking soda
- 50 g ground walnuts
- 50 g ground hazelnuts
- milk (as needed)
- 3 tbsp chopped walnuts
- 3 tbsp finely chopped dark chocolate (at least 60% cocoa content)
- chili peppers (crushed in a mortar)

Preheat the oven to about 160°C fan-forced.

Whisk the butter with the sugars, salt, and spices until fluffy (using a mixer). Mix the flour with the baking soda and fold it into the butter mixture along with the ground walnuts and hazelnuts. If the dough is too dry, knead in a little milk.

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, flatten them, and bake for about 12 minutes. After baking, sprinkle with chopped walnuts, chopped chocolate, and a pinch of chili.
