Chicken Thighs with Cherry Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 0.5 lemon (freshly squeezed juice)
- Salt
- 200 g yogurt
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 4 Garlic cloves
- 1 tsp ginger (freshly grated)
- 2 tsp coriander (ground)
- 1 tsp cumin (ground)
- 0.5 tsp chili powder
- 0.5 tsp turmeric powder
- 0.5 tsp red food coloring
- pepper (from the mill)
- 400 g sour cherries
- 0.125 chicken broth
- 0.25 red port wine
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 piece lemon zest
- Salt
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions

Wash chicken thighs, pat dry and optionally split at the joint, then rub with lemon juice and salt.

Combine yogurt with vinegar and oil in a bowl, press garlic into it and stir in ginger. Add coriander, cumin, chili, turmeric, pepper and food coloring; mix well and coat the thighs with the yogurt mixture, cover and refrigerate for about 6 hours to marinate.

Line a baking sheet with foil, place the marinated thighs on it and bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 35 minutes. Brush with the remaining marinade several times during cooking.

For the sauce, rinse cherries, drain and pit them.

Reduce broth and port wine in a pot over low heat while stirring, remove from heat and melt the chopped chocolate into it, season with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Add cherries and let them heat through.

Slice lemon zest into fine strips and stir into the sauce before serving.
