Chicken Paprika Stew Hungarian Style

Ingredients

  • 6 chicken thighs (ready to cook)
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • 2 red bell pepper halves
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • Sweet Paprika Powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika cream (jar)
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 400 ml Poultry broth
  • 200 g Sour Cream

Instructions

    Pat the thighs dry, split at the joint, season with salt and pepper.

    Wash the peppers, halve them, remove seeds and white membranes, slice into thin strips.

    Peel and finely chop the onions. Heat oil in a Dutch oven, sear the chicken all sides until golden. Sprinkle paprika over it, remove and set aside. Sauté onions and peppers in the pot, stir in paprika cream and tomato paste, then deglaze with broth. Return the chicken to the pot and simmer on medium heat for about 25 minutes. Stir in sour cream, let it heat through briefly, season with salt and pepper.
