Cheese Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 400 g rolled lasagne (pre-cooked from the package)
  • 3 cans chunked tomatoes (400 g each)
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • Nutmeg (freshly grated)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 7 tbsp shredded Sbrinz cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)

  • 75 g mozzarella

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 200°C.

    For the tomato sauce, peel and finely chop onion and garlic. Heat oil in a pot and sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Add tomatoes with sugar, cover, and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes. Then season with salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

    For the cheese sauce, melt butter in a pot. Sprinkle flour and cook briefly. Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a boil. Cook about 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in cheese. Season with pepper and salt.

    Drain mozzarella and cut into small pieces.

    Grease a baking dish with butter and layer lasagne sheets. Spread tomato sauce and pour cheese sauce over it. Continue layering until sauces are used up. Finish with tomato sauce on top. Sprinkle mozzarella and some Sbrinz, then bake in the hot oven for 30 minutes.

    Cut into portions and serve immediately.
