Caprese Salad

The Caprese salad from Spoonsparrow brings Mediterranean flair to lunch and is made super quickly.

Ingredients

  • 800 g tomatoes
  • 1 handful basil (5 g)
  • 400 g mozzarella (45% fat in cream)
  • 4 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
  • 6 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

    Clean the tomatoes, remove stem ends, wash them, quarter and dice into small cubes. Wash the basil, pat dry, and pluck the leaves; set aside a few, finely slice the remaining leaves into strips.

    Layer the tomatoes and mozzarella alternately in glasses, sprinkling with basil between layers. Whisk together vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper, then pour over the assembled salad.

    Sprinkle the reserved basil leaves on top of the Caprese salad and store it covered in the refrigerator until serving.
