Ingredients

  • 10 plum fruits
  • 2 medium apples
  • butter (for the pan)
  • 80 g sauerkraut (mildly soured)
  • 250 g soft butter
  • 180 g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 g Flour
  • 8 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) with upper and lower heat. Wash, pit, and cut the plums into equal-sized wedges for the topping. Wash the apples, quarter them, core, and slice about 3 mm thick.

  2. 2.

Squeeze out excess liquid from the sauerkraut. Thoroughly grease a springform pan and dust it with flour. Cream the butter with sugar. Gradually fold in the eggs and then whisk in the flour to make the dough.

  3. 3.

Stir the sauerkraut with honey and press it against the walls of the springform pan. Evenly spread the dough in the pan and top with apple slices and plum wedges.

  4. 4.

Bake the sauerkraut cake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes. Remove, let cool briefly, loosen the edges from the mold, cut into pieces, and serve.
