Breakfast Bowl

The breakfast bowl from Spoonsparrow scores with plenty of protein and ensures a good start to the day.

Ingredients

  • 80 g Bulgur
  • 0.5 tsp ground cardamom
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla powder
  • 1 small orange
  • 0.5 pomegranate (150 g)
  • 1 Persimmon (alternatively Sharon)
  • 200 g Low-fat quark
  • 200 g yogurt (3.5% fat)
  • 2 tsp Liquid Honey
  • 1 tbsp chopped pistachios (30 g)
  • 1 tbsp almond flakes (with skin; 15 g)

Instructions

    Bring the bulgur to a boil with the spices in double the amount of water and simmer for about 10 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.

    Meanwhile, peel the orange, removing all the white pith. Cut the fruit fillets between the membranes into small pieces. Remove the seeds from half the pomegranate. Wash, peel, remove the stem from the persimmon, and dice the pulp.

    Smooth the quark with yogurt and honey, fill bowls with it, and arrange with bulgur, orange pieces, pomegranate seeds, diced persimmon, pistachios, and almonds.
