Ingredients
- 2 knollensellerie (á 500 g)
- 8 slices cooked ham
- 8 slices gouda cheese
- 100 g breadcrumbs
- 2 Eggs
- 4 tbsp flour
- 8 tbsp plant oil
- salt (pepper)

Wash the celery roots and cook them unpeeled in plenty of salted water for about 40 minutes. Let the roots cool in cold water, peel them, and cut into eight 1 cm thick slices. Cut the ham and cheese into slightly round shapes and place on four slices, covering with the remaining celery slices.

First coat the celery slices in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in breadcrumbs. Heat oil in a pan and fry the celery slices for about 4 minutes on each side over medium heat until golden brown.
