Bread Dumplings

Ingredients
- 1 Shallot
- 1 tbsp butter
- 8 stale rolls (about 300 g)
- 200 ml milk
- 2 Eggs
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- Salt
- pepper (ground)
- breadcrumbs (if needed)

Peel and finely dice the shallot, then sauté it in hot butter until translucent. Slice the rolls into rounds, place them in a bowl, and pour the hot milk over them. Add eggs, parsley, marjoram, shallot, salt, and pepper; mix well. Let sit for about 20 minutes. If needed, add more milk or breadcrumbs.

Shape round dumplings from the mixture and simmer them in salted water for approximately 20 minutes until cooked through.

Remove the bread dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve immediately.
