Ingredients

  • 200 g soft butter
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 40 ml cognac
  • nutmeg
  • 300 g flour
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • yellow and black food coloring

Instructions

  1. 1.

Beat the butter with sugar, salt and vanilla sugar until creamy. Stir in the egg yolk with cognac and nutmeg, quickly fold in the flour, then roll the dough between two layers of cling film to a thickness of 3-4 mm. Chill for 2 hours.

  2. 2.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Cut out bats as desired (with cutters or templates), place on parchment-lined tray, and bake in the hot oven for about 12 minutes until golden yellow. Remove, let the cookies cool briefly on the tray, then transfer to cooling racks.

  3. 3.

Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice into a glaze. Take 2 tbsp of the glaze and color it yellow; keep the rest black. Brush the cookies with the black glaze, allow to dry. Place the yellow glaze in a small freezer bag, cut a corner, and use it to decorate the bats.
