Eerie Witch Fingers for Halloween

Ingredients
- 100 g flour
- 50 g ground peeled almond kernels
- 100 g cold butter
- 70 g sugar
- 4 drops bitter almond aroma
- 1 egg yolk
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 20 almond kernels

Mix the flour with the ground almonds, cold butter in small pieces, sugar, aroma, egg yolk and salt. Quickly knead into a smooth dough and wrap in foil; refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Meanwhile, put the almonds in boiling water. Let them soak for about 5 minutes, then drain and shock in cold water. Drain on kitchen paper and press the almonds out of the soft skins. Spread on a kitchen towel and let dry.

Take the dough from the fridge and cut into 20-25 equal pieces. Roll each piece into strands about 10 cm long and shape into fingers. Press an almond into each as a fingernail. With a knife, carve small ridges at the joints. Place on a plate and refrigerate for another ~30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the fingers on it. Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes until light brown, then let cool.
