Ingredients
- 200 g soft butter
- 80 g sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 40 ml cognac
- nutmeg
- 300 g flour
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- yellow and black food coloring
Instructions
-
1.
Beat butter with sugar, salt and vanilla sugar until creamy. Stir in egg yolk with cognac and nutmeg, quickly fold in flour, knead into a smooth dough and chill for 2 hours. Then roll the dough between two layers of cling film to a thickness of 3–4 mm.
-
2.
Cut out pumpkins, cats and bats as desired (using cutters or templates), place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C fan-forced for about 12 minutes until golden yellow.
-
3.
Remove, let the cookies cool briefly on the baking sheet, then transfer to cooling racks.
-
4.
Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice into a glaze. Divide the glaze and color with food coloring. Brush the cookies with glaze, allow to dry. For delicate decorations (mouths, eyes, etc.) place glaze in small zip‑lock bags, cut a corner and decorate the cookies.
