Ingredients

  • 600 g pre‑cooked fresh seafood (e.g., red mullet, sardines)
  • 400 g mixed pre‑cleaned and peeled seafood (e.g., squid, shrimp)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt
  • ground pepper
  • 100 g flour for coating (best with semolina flour)
  • lemon slice

Instructions

    Wash the fish and seafood and pat them dry thoroughly.

  2. 2.

    Heat the oil in a large pot until it reaches the right temperature; small bubbles should rise when you hold a wooden spoon handle in it.

    Season everything with salt and pepper, then coat in flour, tapping off excess.

    Fry in batches in hot oil until golden brown: larger fish 5‑6 minutes, smaller fish 4‑5 minutes, seafood about 2‑3 minutes. Drain on kitchen paper and keep warm in the oven if desired before serving.
