Baked Pears

A delightful autumn dessert for pear lovers—try the baked pears by Spoonsparrow!

Ingredients

  • 400 g puff pastry (frozen)
  • 4 pears
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 40 g Gorgonzola cheese
  • 3 Tbsp apricot jam
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Let the puff pastry thaw.

    Wash, peel, core the pears, leaving the stem attached; drizzle with lemon juice and fill with Gorgonzola.

    Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) with fan or conventional heat.

    Roll out the pastry and cut into four squares about 15x15 cm. Cut a thin strip from each for decoration. Place pears in the center of each square, fold edges up around them, leaving stems free; press edges together. Brush with beaten egg yolk and decorate with remaining pastry strips.

    Place on parchment-lined tray and bake 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Meanwhile warm jam, strain through a sieve, and brush over baked pears. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
