Baked Cheese Balls

Ingredients

  • 250 g Gruyère cheese
  • 250 g flour
  • 130 g butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • 300 ml water
  • Salt

Instructions

    Heat water with salt and butter until the butter melts, stir in the flour. Remove pot from heat, gradually whisk in the eggs with a wooden spoon until a smooth dough forms.

    Fold in half of the cheese, season with salt. Fill a piping bag with the mixture and pipe mounds onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving enough space between them.

    Bake in an oven at 180°C for 10 minutes until golden yellow, remove, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with remaining cheese, bake another 5 minutes. Remove baked cheese balls from the oven and serve.
