Ingredients

  • 4 small avocados
  • 4 slices whole-grain bread
  • a little butter
  • juice of half a lemon
  • Salt
  • coarsely ground pepper
  • 1 handful watercress (or 1 small bunch)

Instructions

    Halve the avocados, remove the pits, and slice the halves into rounds.

    Spread butter on the whole-grain bread, top with avocado slices, and drizzle with lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.

    Trim the watercress with a small pair of scissors and place it over the avocado slices. Serve the avocado toast immediately.
