Apple Tart with Almonds
Apple tart with almonds by Spoonsparrow: delicious nutty apple treat for young and old!
Ingredients
- 200 g Flour
- 75 g grated almond kernels
- 1 egg
- 4 tbsp Honey
- lemon zest
- 150 g butter
- butter for the pan
- bread crumbs for dusting
- 1 kg apples
- 2 tbsp apricot jam

Mix flour with almonds, press a well in the center. Add salt, egg, 1 tbsp honey and lemon zest. Place butter pieces around the edge, knead everything together, shape into a ball, wrap in foil and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 250°C. Grease an tart pan and dust with crumbs. Roll out the dough, place it in the pan and form a rim; prick the bottom several times with a fork.

Peel the apples, quarter them, remove cores and cut into thin slices. Arrange the apple strips star-shaped on the dough and drizzle with 1 tbsp honey. Bake the tart for 20 minutes until golden yellow. Warm the apricot jam with the remaining honey, spread it over the tart and bake for another 5 minutes.
