Apple-Carrot Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 3 Carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 2 cm ginger
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 tsp Olive oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • freshly ground white pepper
  • Watercress

Instructions

    Peel and cut the carrots, setting aside half a carrot. Wash the apple, quarter it and remove the core, then cut into small pieces. Peel the ginger and either dice or finely grate on a grater.

    Halve the orange and lemon and squeeze out the juice. Add the juice to a blender with carrots, apple, ginger, a cup of crushed ice, and olive oil. Pulse until broken up, then blend smoothly. Season with salt and pepper.

    Rinse the watercress and shake dry. Slice the reserved half carrot into long sticks. Pour the smoothie into four glasses and garnish with watercress and carrot sticks.
