Animal Baked Potatoes from Spoonsparrow are perfect as a Christmas meal for children.

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes (mostly waxy; about 150 g each)
  • 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
  • Salt
  • 80 g cheddar cheese (50% fat in the product)
  • 150 g frozen peas (thawed)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Pepper
  • 8 fusilli pasta
  • 4 cocktail tomatoes

Instructions

    Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly, brush with 1 tbsp oil, season with salt, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for 30 minutes. Grate cheddar cheese beside this.

    Remove the potatoes from the oven, cut off a lid from each (use elsewhere). Sprinkle the potatoes with cheddar and return to the oven for another 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.

    Meanwhile, sauté peas in the remaining hot oil for about 3 minutes over medium heat in a small pot. Season with salt, lemon juice, and pepper; spread on plates and place one potato on each. Press two fusilli as antlers into the cheese, top with pea eyes, and attach one tomato per potato as a nose.
