Ingredients
- 150 g soft butter
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 Eggs (size M)
- 300 g flour
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 2 tbsp milk
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
-
1.
Preheat the oven to 200 °C (fan 180 °C, gas level 3–4). Beat the butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well.
-
2.
Sift the flour with baking powder, then fold in by spoonfuls. Dissolve the baking soda in the milk and stir it into the batter so that a smooth, relatively firm dough forms.
-
3.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Drop 2 tablespoons of dough onto the sheet, spacing them apart. Bake the American doughnuts on the middle rack for about 15–20 minutes until golden brown, then remove and let cool on top.
-
4.
Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice and brush the flat side of each doughnut with the glaze.
