Almond Macaroon

Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites
  • 280 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp sour cherry syrup
  • 350 g ground almonds (skinless)
  • red food coloring
  • 50 baking molds (4 cm diameter)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Whisk the egg whites with powdered sugar until fluffy. Fold in the syrup, almonds and food coloring into the meringue mixture. Arrange the baking molds side by side on a sheet pan.

    Using a teaspoon, place small heaps of batter onto each mold. Let the macaroons dry for 2–3 hours. Bake at 140 °C in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes. Cool, then dust with powdered sugar.
