- 300 g flour
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 lemon (zest)
- 1 egg
- 200 g cold butter
- 70 g almond flakes

Gather flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest on the work surface. Create a well in the center and add the egg. Cut the butter into small pieces and distribute around. Combine all ingredients into a shortcrust dough.

Knead the dough. Wrap it in cling film and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly dust the work surface with flour. Evenly sprinkle almond flakes on top. Roll out the dough so the almonds adhere well. Using a star-shaped cutter, cut many hearts and place them on the baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes until golden yellow.
