Ingredients

  • 120 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • 40 ml milk
  • 40 g glucose
  • 120 g ground almonds
  • flour (for the baking sheet)
  • butter (for the baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Heat powdered sugar, butter, milk and glucose in a pot over low heat while stirring with a whisk to about 50 °C. Do not let the mixture boil. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, fold in the almonds, cover and refrigerate overnight.

  2. 2.

Grease a baking sheet with butter and dust it with flour. Create a heart-shaped cardboard template (about 4–5 cm diameter). Spread the dough through the template using a spatula, place the hearts side by side on the baking sheet. With the oven door slightly ajar bake at 200 °C for a short time until the hearts are lightly browned. Remove from the oven, let cool, then bake again until the hearts are golden brown.

  3. 3.

Allow the hearts to cool completely and wrap them in cellophane.
