Winter Ginseng Tea Punch

A winter ginseng tea punch from Spoonsparrow creates a wonderful winter atmosphere in every kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 10 teaspoons instant red ginseng tea granules from KGV (available at health food stores)
  • 0.5 Organic lemon
  • 1 Organic Orange
  • 1 apple
  • 500 ml Rabenhorst apple juice (available at health food stores)
  • 50 ml Silphion Blanc herbal liqueur from Hübner (available at health food stores)
  • 50 g honey, e.g., Manuka honey (available at health food stores)
  • 2 sticks of Brecht cinnamon stick (available at health food stores)
  • 5 cloves of Brecht spice clove (available at health food stores)
  • 1 tablespoon Donath sea buckthorn juice (available at health food stores)

Instructions

    Prepare the tea according to package instructions with 500 ml water.

    Rinse lemon and orange hot, peel off zest and squeeze out the juice. Peel, wash, core the apple and cut into wedges.

    Slowly bring apple juice with lemon juice, orange juice, honey, cinnamon sticks, one spice clove, some lemon and orange zest, and a few apple wedges to a gentle boil while stirring. Let it steep over low heat for about 5 minutes.

    Remove the cinnamon sticks and citrus zests, then mix the apple juice and herbal aperitif with the hot tea. Optionally stir in a splash of sea buckthorn juice. Skewer the remaining apple wedges with one spice clove each and add them to the punch.
