Wild Rice with Beef

Ingredients

  • 250 g wild rice mix
  • 400 g beef (for quick stir‑fry)
  • 1 bunch spring onions
  • 1 can bamboo shoots
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 3 Tbsp plant oil
  • 2 tbsp plum chutney (from jar, finely chopped)
  • 1 bunch chives
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

    Wash and pat dry the beef, cut into strips. Mix soy sauces with sesame seeds, marinate beef for 30 minutes. Wash spring onions, trim ends, cut into 1 cm pieces. Peel onion, slice into thin rings. Drain bamboo shoots, cut into fine sticks.

    Prepare rice according to package instructions and press warm into small molds, keep warm.

    Heat oil in a wok, add beef and stir‑fry for 3–5 minutes until crisp. Add spring onions, bamboo shoots and onion, cook another 3 minutes. Stir in plum chutney, season with salt and pepper, fry for 1 more minute. Wash chives, cut into fine ribbons.

    Remove rice from mold onto plate, top with beef‑vegetable mixture, sprinkle with chives.
